City of Belmont

The City of Belmont is located on the San Francisco Peninsula, nearly
equidistant between San Francisco and San Jose. Its population of nearly
26,000 is sprinkled throughout the level land and rolling hills that make up its
picturesque 4.6 square mile area.

Belmont enjoys the presence of 14 developed parks and 337 acres of open
space for hiking, running and biking. The Parks and Recreation Department
maintains 27 acres of city and school district-owned athletic fields, as well as a
broad range of fitness and lifelong leaning programs for children, seniors and
adults.

The City of Belmont is served by the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District
and Sequoia Union High School District. Elementary schools include Central
Elementary, Cipriani Elementary, Fox Elementary, Nesbit Elementary,
Redwood Shores Elementary and Sandpiper Elementary. Public school
students move on to Ralston Middle School and Carlmont High, both California
Distinguished Schools. Belmont offers several private education alternatives
as well. Charles Armstrong School specializes in language-based learning
differences. Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) is a K-8 Catholic Elementary
School, and Notre Dame High School provides a Catholic high school option for
girls. Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) is located on Ralston Avenue
and is home to beautiful Ralston Hall, a historic landmark in the heart of its
idyllic campus.

The town features two compelling commercial centers brimming with
shopping and dining destinations. The Safeway Center on the corner of
Ralston Avenue and El Camino Real is positioned just across from the Caltrain
Station. It features several restaurants including Peet’s Coffee, Starbucks,
Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, Jersey Mike’s Sandwiches and more. Just up Ralston
Avenue at the corner of Alameda de Las Pulgas, the Carlmont Village Shopping
Center offers a diverse array of business including Safeway and Starbucks,
Lunardi’s specialty grocery store, several restaurants, shops and amenities.
The beloved Belmont Library is positioned a few blocks up the road. One need
not travel far beyond this lively town center to accomplish a day’s errands. Its
charming atmosphere is the icing on the cake!
