Find great activities for the whole family, no matter where you live on the Peninsula!

The San Francisco Bay Area is one of the most robust places to call home, it's one of the reasons we love living here so much. Most cities in the Peninsula take advantage of our famously incredible summer weather and play host to numerous events and event series to get people out and about.


Here we're providing an overview of what each city offers, and how you can easily find more information for each city. Take a look; there's plenty of options to find something for you and your entire family this summer!

South San Francisco

Don't let the fog keep you away, come out for great events in South City! South San Francisco hosts a monthly movie night in the park, Summer Learning Challenges at the Main and Grand Ave Libraries, Puppet Art Theater, and even Pokémon inspired nature talks about bugs(July 29, 2p, Grand Ave Library)!  View a full calendar of South San Francisco Events here.


San Bruno

San Bruno is alive this summer with events like Flea Markets in July & September, Concerts in the Park in July & August, a Youth Triathlon in August, Senior Summer Sports Week in August, and Movies in the Park this September! View a full calendar of San Bruno Events here.


Burlingame

Summer activities and events are robust in Burlingame, from Kids Night Out, Music in the Park, Movies in the Park, a Family Campout, and more! There are events specific to kids, teens, and adults, too! View a full calendar of Burlingame events here.



San Mateo

Summer events in San Mateo include their Central Park Music Series, September Nights on B Street, and Movies in the Park. There are also teen specific events! Belmont

Summer events in Belmont include their Summer Concert Series, "Belmont Talks" which are naturalist led sessions on how to learn more about wildlife in the Peninsula, plus Movies in the Park at Twin Pines Park! View a full calendar of Belmont events here.



Foster City

There's no shortage of summer activities in Foster City. Summer Days, the city's newest community event, is held the 3rd weekend of August. This multi-day festival features carnival rides, music, food trucks, beer tasting, a car show, the famous Rubber Ducky Races, and so much more! San Carlos

Redwood City

Menlo Park

Things to Do in Palo Alto include events at the Junior Museum and Zoo, Palo Alto Art center, outdoor recreation opportunities and events at several parks, libraries, local community events, and public gardens.
